Analyse an opening sequence from your genre - Spider-Man 2

Cinematography
We firstly see the 'Marvel' title flashing onto our screens in the centre of the frame as a mid-shot. The titles begin to show on the screen, also in a mid-shot and in the centre of the frame. The 'Spider-Man 2' title then appears on our screens after shots of spider webs, once again the title being a mid-shot and in the centre of the frame. We then come into the cartoon shots of Spider-Man and other characters to show who is starring in the film. We see a close-up of the main character in his human self. There is then a head shot of a girl, also another key character in the film. Also the viewer will then see a shot of what we can only think of as a bad guy, this is shown in a mid-shot. We see a shot of Spider-Man/Peter in the centre of the frame in a mid-shot, we also see a low angle shot of Spider-Man looking somewhere. All of these shots are showing the story of who is in the film and also how Peter became Spider-Man from the beginning of the opening sequence.

Mise-en-scene
There is no current setting or location for this opening sequence as there is only shots of the characters and credits. The colours of this opening sequence are quite bright and the colour of red could mean danger. The colour of white when we see a shot of the girl in a white light could mean that she is good. There is also the colour blue, the colours blue and red are shown as they are the colours of Spider-Man's outfit. The positioning of the subjects are always either the centre of the frame or at the side of the frame. The body language of the characters are that they are always just looking of into the distance and their facial expressions also show that.

Editing
The shots of this opening sequence are quite slow paced and this could also be classed a slow motion. The cutting is also quite slow and the only visual effects shown are the spider webs being shown. There is not any match on action or shot/reverse shot within this opening sequence. The titles also fade onto the screen and also the title of 'Spider-Man 2' flies onto the screen.

Sound
The sound for this opening sequence is non-diagetic and there is also no dialogue within this. There are no voice overs or any sound effects. The music went well for the opening sequence because it was as if the music was say how amazing this masked hero is.
