Cinematography
We firstly see an establishing shot of where this is set which looks quite deserted as it is in the middle of fields. We then see a two shot of two girls, at first they look normal but that changes as we see a close up of a knife in one of these girl's hands, once they drop this knife it leads us into the titles. Before this we see close-ups of the girls and then close-ups of blood in a car, showing that they could have just killed someone. Once the titles are over we see a long shot of a car pulling up, once again this looks as if it is in the middle on nowhere. We then see a mid shot of the main character as he gets out of the car. There is a shot/reverse shot going on when the man is talking to the woman, most likely another police officer. There is another long shot to show that the police are at the crikme scene and we are still where we started. As the car goes past the main character which is the man we see a pan shot here and it looks as if the girl is staring at the man and that we are looking through one of the girl's eyes. We then get to the shot of the interviewing room and we see a close-up of all the people's faces in the interviewing room.Mise-en-scene
We see the two girl's covered in blood which is most likely not their blood, we can also see that what has just happened has happened during the day. The colour of the grass makes the scene looks quite bright. The colouring of the titles is also quite bright. The location of this at first seems to be in a field in the middle of nowhere and then it is in an interviewing room. The costumes that the two girl's are wearing looks as if they have been out for the night. The facial expressions of the girl's as they walk away from the crime scene looks as if they are ot sorry and have no remorse for what they have done to the person. The positioning of the girl's within the frame seems to be in the centre of the frame.Editing
The cutting of the shots of when we see the two girl's and then the wounded man in the car are quite fast, this could be to show that they are linked to what has just happened to the man in the car. The titles seem to slide onto the screen with a brightly coloured background. We see shot/reverse shot happening when the man is talking to the police woman. The cutting of the shots is very fast when we get to the interviewing room as we have snappy shots of the people individually.

Sound
When we first see the establishing shot of the location of where this murder has taken place we here a sound which seems to be non diegetic and it draws the audience in and it sounds scary to represent danger and fear as we are about to find out what gruesome event has happened here. We then here the song for the titles which is also non diegetic and towards the end of it, it seems slightly creepy and sinister as this is a detective show. When the titles finish all we can here is the wind and then the dialogue of the characters which tell us that something gruesome has happened here and the killer's have been caught.Story - How the opening sets it?
The opening sets the story as we know that a murder has just happened and the rest of the show could possibly be about how this person got murdered and if they can get a reason and confession as to why these two girl's did what they did. Also this murder could set the story up to show that other murders have taken place at the hands of these people. How the opening suggests the genre (thriller)
The opening suggests that the show is a thriller because we firstly see someone creepy and quite gruesome which sets the atmosphere to thriller. Also the fact that they are in an interviewing room shows that this show is all about murders which can be linked with thrillers.
